Chittoor: In spite of implementing the Disha Act, the sexual assault against women and minors are on raise in the state. Recently, a minor girl was allegedly raped by three youths in Chittoor district. This crime has taken place at Erpedu Mandal here in the district. The victim is studying in 10th class.

The girl resides in a remote village, and she was preparing for coming board examinations. The area is so backward that there are no toilets in the village. With this, the girl went to attend nature call outside, and while she was returning back home, three youth stopped and took her to an isolated place and raped her.

Later, they threatened to kill her family if she discloses the matter with anyone. The girl somehow escaped from there. The locals noticed her running from a distance, suspected that something has gone wrong.

The accused were also chasing her. With this, the villagers followed, caught and thrashed them. Later, the three were handed over to the police. On the incident, the police have registered a case and arrested the culprits. The victim was sent to the hospital for medical tests.
