This year through our Hitha Chinthak (membership) drive, we are planning on enrolling more than 51 lakh Hindus in VHP. He along with other VHP leaders addressed a press conference in Kurnool on Sunday.

Milimd Parande said that the organisational units are constituted in over 65,000 villages across the country and the target is to reach over 1lakh villages. Presently about 92,000 service projects are providing services in the fields of Education, Health, Skill development, Women empowerment and others.

Food relief work has been going on in the states of Punjab, Bihar, Maharastra, Karnataka and Kerala by providing food, clothes, temporary shelter, medical help and evacuating people from flood affected areas.

He said that in AP, in violation of the Article 27 of Constitution, the state govt. has decided to pay a salary of Rs.5,000 per month to every Christian paster, Rs.10,000 per month to mullah of Mosque, Rs.5,000 per month to Mowzams of mosque.

This is of preferential treatment to particular religion, he said. The AP government is also planning to acquire exclusively Hindu temple lands with the aim of distribution as house sites to the needy. This is illegal and against the wishes of the donors of the Hindu society, he stated.

The government should consider and acquire the huge properties of wakf boards for the purpose of distribution to the needy. The National Chief Secretary has said that they have submitted a memorandum to the Governor of AP on the issues.
