The TDP in its five year rule neglected the welfare of police personnel and Varla Ramaiah has no right to speak about the weekly off or welfare of the police

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Police Officers Association has said the State government was implementing the welfare schemes for the police and implementing weekly off so that the police can spend one day in a week with their family.

The association state president, J Srinivasa Rao and other leaders speaking to the media at the AP Revenue Services Association Hall on Thursday said the state government was sanctioning weekly off and thousands of police are availing the facility. Srinivasa Rao took objection to the statement given by TDP leader Varla Ramaiah that the Police Officers Association was not active and not doing anything for the police. Srinivasa Rao reacted to the comment made by Varla Ramaiah that oppressive policies were still continuing in the police department.

The police officers association president said the police department gives postings and promotions basing on professional skills, dedication, winning of awards, rewards, courage shown in the profession etc. He has made it clear that the police department never showed discrimination against any one.

Srinivasa Rao said the TDP in its five year rule neglected the welfare of police personnel and Varla Ramaiah has no right to speak about the weekly off or welfare of the police. He said Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy helped the police staff to spend one day in a week with their families by allotting weekly off.
