Vizianagaram: The government should regularise the services of contract employees as per the assurances given by the chief minister, stated AP Government Employees Association state general secretary G Aaskara Rao.

Speaking to media on Sunday, he said if the government won't fulfill the assurance given by the chief minister, the contract workers would be forced to stage statewide dharnas and protests.

He added even the retired employees of government service were also struggling to get their retirement benefits.

The higher officials were misleading the government on the issue, he alleged. Association leaders Y Vinay Mohan, V V S R Prasad and L V Yugandhar also participated in the programme.
