Ramateertham(Vizianagaram): The head which was suspected that some miscreants separated from the idol of Srirama in Kodandarama temple in Ramateertham village of Nellimarla mandal was found in a lake near the village on Wednesday. The head was reportedly removed from the idol by some miscreants on Tuesday and the locals found the idol in a disfigured manner. This incident has sparked Statewide protests from the Opposition parties TDP, BJP and even Sadhu Parishat.

Taking the issue seriously, the State government appointed Endowments Department Regional Joint Director D Bhramaramba as inquiry officer to probe into the incident. District SP B Rajakumari, MP B Chandrasekhar and MLA B Appala Naidu also visited the temple at Bodikonda and initiated steps to recover the head and trace the miscreants.

Anyhow on Wednesday the head of the idol was found in a lake near by the village. Ramateertham Seva Parishat stated that they would reinstall the idol of Lord Srirama after performing poojas in a grand manner.
