Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) expressed its deep anguish over the incidents that occurred in the Legislative Council on Wednesday. PCC working president Narreddi Tulasi Reddy said that both the YSRCP and the TDP belittled the elders' council which is highly deplorable.

He said in a statement here on Thursday that one minister slapping his thigh challenging the opposition, even opening the zip of the trousers and another minister and an MLC kicking each other caused anguish to the civilised society.

Tulasi Reddy demanded immediate dismissal of such ministers from the Cabinet otherwise people would think that it was sanctioned by the Chief Minister himself.

Referring to the passing of resolution in the Assembly against NPR and NRC, Tulasi Reddy described it as great drama enacted on the stage of Assembly. He recalled that both the TDP and the YSRCP supported the two bills in the Lok Sabha when they were enacted. "By simply not implementing the NRC and NPR in the state won't stop the implementation of the Citizens Amendment Act (CAA) by the Centre," he pointed out.

"If the YSRCP and the TDP were sincere and believe in the secularism, they should bring pressure on the Centre and got the CAA withdrawn," he demanded.
