Hyderabad: Hitachi Vantara, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi Ltd, on Tuesday unveiled a global delivery centre in Hyderabad. The new regional operations hub would develop solutions for their customers based in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.

The company presently has 300 employees in this centre, which it said will double to 600 by next year. Brian Householder, CEO, Hitachi Vantara, said: "Hitachi Vantara is expanding its presence in Hyderabad to help accelerate our global business.

India, with its highly skilled workforce and regional prominence, plays a critical role in the company's global growth strategy, of the company."

The company has four global delivery centres across the globe. The Hyderabad centre, the only one present in India, is their largest development centre.

"This centre expands the company's ability to showcase world-class products, solutions and services to customers from the growing India market and elsewhere in the APAC region," the CEO added.

He also further said that by January 2020, Hitachi Consulting will be integrated under Hitachi Vantara. With this merger, Hitachi Vantara will have 12,000 employees globally.

The current standalone workforce from Vantara being 4,000 and Hitachi Consulting is 8,000.

Mentioning about India as a market, the company said sectors such data-based startups, telecom, and healthcare are growing opportunities in the country whereas BFSI, IT and the government (smart city space) are potential customers for Vantara's data driven solutions.

In reply to the effect of global tensions on the company's growth, Householder said, "every company is seeing some affect of the political climate.
