Filmmaker Hansal Mehta confirms that he is not leaving social media platform Twitter and despite all the negativity spread during this election, he will try and be more positive and celebrate every culture.

Micro-blogging platform Twitter, turned into a battle ground where abuse, negativity and mudslinging has become a norm. Celebrities get targeted for their opinions and political stands.

Hansal Mehta had his fair share of trolls and now the filmmaker has a new resolution, and yes, he is not leaving Twitter.

The filmmaker wrote, "There's been so much negativity, name-calling and hatred on Twitter. These elections have made this platform a place to express prejudice and to become derogatory. It's been on the increase over the past few years and has made this space very toxic. No I am not leaving twitter.

"I resolve to make my posts more positive, to speak about all the good things life has to offer, about all the good in the world, about cinema, about art, about poetry and about people who inspire me. I will celebrate every festival, I will celebrate every culture...I will celebrate those who work towards making this world a better place. We've had enough number of people using this platform to spread division, hatred and abuse. I will use this platform to pray for peace, understanding and love. I will tweet responsibly"

"I will continue to fight for what is right. I will neither endorse nor propagate nor deride fake news. I will simply ignore. I will not comment on unfounded or unsubstantiated allegations. I will not participate in a social media trial" added the filmmaker.

Meanwhile filmmaker Hansal Mehta is collaborating with his favourite Actor Rajkummar Rao for 'Swagat Hain'.

The film 'Swagat Hain' is inspired by real-life incidents and is said to address a strong statement about freedom of expression, hypocrisy and the exploitation of women at the workplace.

Rajkummar Rao and director Hansal Mehta have worked together earlier in films like 'Omerta', 'Shahid' and 'Aligarh'.
