In Kollywood alone, Suriya's Soorarai Pottru, Vijay's Master which were meant to be summer releases were postponed. The last we hear is that Rajinikanth's Annaatthe theatrical release to has been pushed to next Summer. The movie was meant to hit theatres next Pongal.
Now, Chiyaan Vikram's most anticipated movie Cobra too has joined the list of movies whose theatrical release will be delayed. The makers recently released the first single from the movie Thumbi Thullal. The movie stars Vikram and Srinidhi Shetty in the lead roles.
Now, the latest buzz doing the rounds suggest that the makers of Chiyaan Vikram's Cobra are considering Christmas 2020 or Pongal 2021 to lock the release date of the movie.
Cobra is directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu and bankrolled by 7 Screen Studios. AR Rahman is scoring the music for the film. The film also marks the screen debut of cricketer Irfan Pathan, who will be seen in a key role. Mohammed Ali Baig, Anand Raj and director Ravikumar among others will be seen playing prominent roles in Cobra.
The crew of Vikram's Cobra was shooting in Russia when the lockdown was imposed which forced the team to abandon shooting midway and return home. We hear that another month's schedule of work is still pending. Cobra makers are planning to resume shoot after the end of lockdown and after international travel resumes.
