Infosys Hyderabad Development Center in partnership with HYSEA (Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association) successfully concluded the second edition of sHeACKATHON, the women only hackathon.
Infosys Hyderabad Development Center in partnership with HYSEA (Hyderabad Software Enterprises Association) successfully concluded the second edition of sHeACKATHON, the women only hackathon. This hackathon was ideated to aligned to the UN theme 'Innovate for Change' and organised on March 16 and 17, 2019 as a part of International Women's Day celebrations.
The objective of this hackathon was to provide a platform to women technologists to collaborate & create innovative game-changing technical solutions around the theme of sustainability. Over 100 women participated in this two-day competition. The hackathon was divided into 3 rounds. Following the two rigorous rounds, 17 teams qualified for the 36-hour long finale organized at the Infosys campus.
Leveraging new technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Machine-learning algorithms, IoT, etc. the finalists developed smart apps for healthcare, safety, eco-conservation, agriculture and waste management under the mentorship of a group of Hackmasters from Infosys.
Hari Chandana Dasari, IAS officer and Zonal Commissioner (West) of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) was the chief guest at the finale. While addressing the audience, she emphasised the need for industry and corporates to nurture and support the women workforce to excel in their careers.
Raghu Boddupally, AVP & Centre Head, Infosys Hyderabad Gachibowli said, "sHeACKATHON is Infosys' endeavor to recognize women techies across the industry and encourage them in their effort to lead the digital disruption".
R Srinivas Rao, COO HYSEA, mentioned, "Technology should be leveraged to solve real problems and the journey of the sHeACKATHON forum in the direction of resolution of actual issues & reimagining technological solutions has been incredible".
The Jury Choice award also went to the Team from Infosys for developing an e-woman app for pregnant women in rural areas to connect with Anganwadi centers and leverage government schemes.
