Hyderabad: Be the pioneers in emerging technologies
Hyderabad: GITAM Hyderabad Business School organised a Seminar on "Block Chain and Internet of Things". Experts on these emerging technologies introduced them to the MBA students at GITAM HBS on Tuesday.
Prof Y Lakshman Kumar, Dean & Director, GITAM HBS, said it is essential for the managers of tomorrow to have at least a functional knowledge, if not expertise, of emerging technologies like Block Chain and Internet of Things. Raja Shekar Perepa, Director, Technology Innovations, ACS Technologies Ltd, made a presentation on how Internet of Things is already being applied in a number of sectors like health, shopping and home security, and how the technology is going to be ubiquitous in the near future. He said the dream of every cryptographer to write an invincible code will come true through block chain technology.
Kenny Li, Expert Engineer-Block Chain and Cloud Computing, Onething Technologies, Hong Kong, focussed on the challenges like performance, scalability, and storage, and possible solutions in Block Chain technology. Michael Qi, Vice President, Overseas Business Development, Onething Technologies, Hong Kong, dwelt on the powerful cloud computing platform of Thunder Chain.
The speakers invited the students to come up with innovative business ideas and offered to incubate those ideas and even fund them. They also welcomed ideas from the faculty members for research in emerging technologies.
