GITAM Visakhapatnam get 342 internships in MNCs
Internships at the end of Pre-final year play a major role in the career choice of an engineering student in the final year.
Visakhapatnam: Internships at the end of Pre-final year play a major role in the career choice of an engineering student in the final year. It also enables the corporates to get a measure of the talent pool available in an institution prior the placement season. GITAM students experience with increased number of internships in various MNCs and Indian companies. According to GITAM Training and Placement Directorate around 342 paid internships received by students this year.
Well established firms including Microsoft, TCS, Technovert and FIAT as well as IT start-up Firms Verticals, FURPSQ Tech.Pvt.Ltd., Aeodita, Prakruthika, Coursack and Robocoupler have visited the Campus and conducted a detailed selection process including Online test, GD, Technical & HR Interviews to recruit Interns. Recently, Andhra Pradesh Innovation Society (APIS) along with IT Start Up Firms conducted an Internship Drive in the GITAM University Campus and has selected Interns from the Engineering Management streams.
The interns will not only get an opportunity to work on live projects but will also be handsomely rewarded with monthly stipends and the talented ones will return to Campus with Pre Placement Offers, said by GITAM Director of Training & Placements (DoTP) Commander Gurumoorthy Gangadharan.
He informed that GITAM DoTP has also roped in Internshala to provide Internship opportunities across the country and with this effort GITAM students have got opportunities in IIT Delhi, IQ301 Sport Technologies, Tech FEST-SLIET, TBS Planet, GoOffer Hyperlocal Pvt.Ltd. and INDIA Redefined.
In addition to Internship Drives, Corporate recruiters conduct innovative contests to select Interns. This year GITAM students have reached the grand Finale of Deloitte TechnoUtsav – USI's signature corporate-campus initiative – to bring some of the best talent onboard.TechnoUtsav received 13,000+ registrations from across 65+ campuses, including premier institutes – the biggest till date. "Team has No Name" team from GITAM Vizag has reached asone of the TOP 15 finalists.
