Udhampur: In a bid to promote Dogri culture, Abhinav Behal, an Udhampur-based artist, is using contemporary art to highlight the "unexplored region" in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

"Jammu and Kashmir's region has not been promoted for a very long time. That's why I want to promote it through contemporary art including animation, photography and digital painting. I want to promote tourism in the state through my contemporary art so that people visit and boost the economy of the state," Behal told ANI.

"I basically try to cover heritage and unexplored far-flung areas of the state, which have been left untouched," he added. Among the areas he has covered include scenic Dudu among other places.

The winner of various international awards and national awards, Behal's work has also featured on the Incredible India website and the Jammu and Kashmir's tourism website.

He also seeks to promote the Dogri culture among the new generation. "Today, the new generation feels disconnected that's why I am using animation to connect with the youth. It will help children to learn about their heritage and Dogri culture." (ANI)
