Coronavirus in India: India on Wednesday recorded 2,85,914 new Covid-19 cases and 665 deaths in the last 24 hours, a slight increase from yesterday. The active caseload currently stands at 22,23,018.

The daily positivity rate rose marginally to 16.16 per cent while the weekly positivity rate was 17.33%.

With 2,99,073 recoveries in the last 24 hours, the total recoveries rose to 3,73,70,971 taking the recovery rate to 93.23%.

Coronavirus In Andhra Pradesh: Andhra Pradesh reported 13,618 fresh Coronavirus cases taking the total tally to 22,22,573 cases across the state. While coming to fatalities, nine deaths reported in the last 24 hours taking the toll to 14570. On the other hand, as many as 8687 new patients were cured in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries to 21,01,685 and there are currently 1,06,318 active cases.

According to district-wise data, Visakhapatnam district reported 1791 new infections, followed by Anantapur 1650 and Guntur 1464 while Vizianagaram has logged the least cases with 466 new cases in the last 24 hours.

Coronavirus in Telangana: Telangana on Wednesday reported 3,801 new coronavirus positive cases and one death in the last 24 hours taking the overall cases to 7,47,155 and the falalities to 4,078. On the other hand, around 2,046 people recovered from the virus in a single day pushing the total recovery count to 7,05,054.

At present, around 38,023 people who are infected with the virus are in isolation or undergoing treatment.

Of the new cases, 1,570 cases were reported from the areas under Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), 284 from Rangareddy, 254 from Medchal Malkajgiri, 147 from Hanamkonda, 139 from Khammam, 96 from Siddipet, 88 from Sangareddy, 86 from Mahabubnagar, 79 from Karimnagar, 78 from Bhadradri Kothagudem, 70 from Nalgonda, 67 from Mancherial, 62 from Nizamabad, 59 from Suryapet, 55 from Jagtial and remaining cases from other districts in the state.

    German Covid cases hit record as parliament debates vaccine mandate

    Germany on Wednesday reported a new record of 164,000 Covid-19 infections in one day as the lower house of parliament prepared to debate proposals to either require or robustly encourage residents to be vaccinated. Around 75% of the population has received at least one dose of a vaccine - less than in other western European countries such as France, Italy or Spain, where the equivalent figures are 80%, 83% and 86% - and the vaccination campaign is stuttering.     Odisha registers 7,416 new Covid-19 cases, 10 fresh fatalities

    Odisha's Covid-19 tally rose to 12,25,268 on Wednesday as 7,416 people tested positive for the infection, 1,525 or 25.9 per cent more than the previous day, a health bulletin said. Ten more patients succumbed to the infection, which is the highest daily toll in nearly five months. The state had reported 5,891 cases and seven fatalities on Tuesday. The daily test positivity rate rose to 11.37 per cent as 65,250 samples were examined in the last 24 hours, it said, adding that 867 children are among the new patients.
