Shame on USA

It is a shame on the part of Uncle Sam to slay George Floyd by slow motion. The hollowness of its claim of racial non-discrimination is fully exposed to the world. It is a severe blot on humanity. If the police force themselves, as custodians of law and order take the law into their hands, without allowing it to take its own course, it is simple chaos, more so when the crime is race-tainted.

The worst is yet to come

It's shocking to know that during this nationwide lockdown 198 migrant workers lost their lives in road accidents between March 25 and May 31 as per data compiled by Save LIFE foundation. People have already faced many problems and government started unlocking things and this is going to make situation worse. As we all know many people didn't completely follow all the three phases of lockdown rules and eventually we lost lots of lives. Covid-19 cases are still increasing in large numbers. Many researchers have warned about the second wave and maybe we have not seen the worst.

Elite privilege

During this COVID-19 lockdown, most schools, especially the private institutions, have started online classes. However, this facility only caters to the privileged students who can afford a computer or smartphone with an internet connection. Will their underprivileged counterparts who belong to the lowest rungs of society be left out? Education must be a level-playing field where everyone is benefited without any disparity.

Hans Impact!

Thanks for giving space to my letter on 2 June titled "Is PM wearing the mask correctly" and showing the courage to bring this in public domain through your paper. It is impact of The Hans and today the advertisement released by Government of India (page 3) carries the correct photo of Prime Minister Modi wearing mask as per protocol issued by Government of India. (new and old ad attached)

Over the years, I have cultivated the habit of reading more than one newspaper and The Hans India joined the list from the year 2011. I have shared the letter to few other newspapers pointing out mistake and only your paper had carried my comment and others seem to have ignored it for reasons best known to them. In fact by publishing the comment you have helped the government to realise the mistake and rectify it before it could have snowballed into a big controversy as I have not come across any other newspaper even reporting about the glaring mistake.
