Naxal suspects visit villager on Kodagu-Dakshina Kannada border
The movement of Naxals suspects have been spotted near Kukke Subrahmanya and as per information they visited a house in Ainekidu village of Kukke Subrahmanya village in Kadaba taluk of Dakshina Kannada district.
Mangaluru: The movement of Naxals suspects have been spotted near Kukke Subrahmanya and as per information they visited a house in Ainekidu village of Kukke Subrahmanya village in Kadaba taluk of Dakshina Kannada district.
A team of three suspects visited villager Ashok’s house when it was raining lightly at around 6 pm on Saturday. It is said that the three suspects talked with the family for more than an hour and charged their mobile phone before leaving to forest.
Information is that all the three who came had weapons. It may be recalled that suspected naxalites had came to the shop in Koojimale on the Dakshina Kannada-Kodagu border on March 17 last, about 25 km distance between Koojimale and Ainekidu.
In the same area, the anti naxal force conducted a massive search operation but were unable to trace the suspects.
The area visited by the Naxals is close to the Pati Kumari Datta forest of the Kumara Parvata range and from there they can reach Somwarpet and Galibeedu in Madikeri taluk. It is possible to connect to Kerala through Sampaje within the forest. At present, anti naxal force has intensified its search.
A week ago, the Anti-Naxal Force (ANF) had launched a combing operation in the Dakshina Kannada-Kodagu border areas following reports of suspected Naxal movement. Information was received that a group of 8 suspected naxalites were wandering in the area.
