Secunderabad: The Telangana and Andhra Sub Area (TASA) sent three columns comprising 250 army personnel in Raichur, Yadgirand Gulbarga (Kalaburagi) districts along with engineers and medical teams. The Karnataka state administration sent a request to TASA for help.

Relief operations are underway and the personnel is assisting the district administration since August 6. A large number of locals have been rescued, provided medical aid and provided food packets.

Despite inclement weather and continuous rain in the region, all efforts are being made to evacuate the villagers, with the help of NDRF and civil administration. Two columns at 1EME Centre, Secunderabad, are on standby for Srikakulam (AP), if assistance is required, said senior officials.
