In the view nation-wide strike tomorrow, auto-rickshaws, cabs, trucks and other private transportations to stay off roads tomorrow in Telangana. The strike has been called by a joint action committee of several trade unions -- AITUC, CITU, IFTU, INTUC, TRSKV and TNTUC against the BJP government at centre.
In Telangana, the auto-rickshaw union joined the strike with nine demands including the abolition of Motor Vehicle Act 2019, waving off transportation tax for the lockdown and corona period from March to December.
The union has also put forward the demands such as payment of Rs 10,000 per month to auto and cab drivers for the lockdown period, exemption of paying EMIs against vehicle loans till March 31, 2021, to stop extortion of usurious interests by private financiers for the lockdown period and sanctioning double bedroom houses to all cab drivers.
Meanwhile, the committee said that the workers belonging to all the sectors, except those who are part of essential services will take part in the bandh.
