Damaged road poses threat to motorists
Most of the main roads in Dubai Gate area of Bowenpally have been damaged due the rains for the past five days. The outer layer of the road from Dubai Gate to Hashmatpet got washed away, forming potholes on the road.

Although the Board officials have taken temporary measures to repair the road by filling with tar patches, they were washed away with continuous rains. Big potholes were formed on the road near Spencer Supermarket and two-wheelers faced a lot of inconvenience travelling on the road.
According to locals living nearby, many two-wheeler riders even fell from their vehicles due to the bad state of the road. Similarly, the road from NIMH to Anjaiah Nagar also got severely damaged. Moreover, an overflowing manhole on the road has made the life of commuters even more difficult.
Several locals who spoke to THI expressed their anguish at the state of the roads and held Cantonment Board officials responsible for it. They also alleged that the development works taken up in the Cantonment area are progressing at a very slow pace.
