The Indian March for Science (IMFS) members has appealed to the government to frame policies based on scientific evidence. A rally was taken out from Basheerbagh to Liberty Cross Roads reached Press Club on Friday.

IMFS Convener Dr K Babu Rao flagged off the Science march, R Gangadhar (Breakthrough Science Society (BSS) state convener presided over the meeting.
Professor Purushotham Reddy, environmentalist and retired OU Professor, was the chief guest. He said, "Day-by-day environmental pollution is becoming a serious problem. Due to consumption of conventional fossil fuels like petrol, diesel and others increasing the rate of percentage of carbon in environment. Government is all set to go for Uranium mining at Nallamala forest region. Due to this activity the underground water gets contaminated with radioactive property. Two resolutions were raised by the committee, one is on Anti black magic bill and another one is on Budget allocation for Education passed unanimously.
Jana Vignana Vedika state secretary R Varaprasad, O.Y.S.T.E.R State president Rakesh and more than 600 students, teachers, professors, scientists took part in the rally.
