With the Meteorological Department issuing a warning of heavy rains, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) emergency and disaster rescue teams responded timely and averted rain-related issues that could have caused by the rains that lashed the city on Tuesday afternoon.

Hyderabad: With the Meteorological Department issuing a warning of heavy rains, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) emergency and disaster rescue teams responded timely and averted rain-related issues that could have caused by the rains that lashed the city on Tuesday afternoon.

The Meteorological Department issued a rainfall alert in the afternoon, following which the GHMC Commissioner M Dana Kishore informed about it to the monsoon engineering, urban biodiversity and emergency rescue teams.

The GHMC emergency teams cleared more than 50 water logged areas were found across the city, giving the much relief to motorists and pedestrians to move freely on the roads.

However, traffic was disrupted in some of the areas across the city due to water-logging due to the rains. Emergency teams responded quickly and cleared the water-logging areas.

The GHMC employees responded quickly to the complaints related to the water logging, falling of trees, and some other rain-related issues which were lodged on GHMC Myapp, and emergency numbers. The rainwater logged on the roads like Rajbhavan road, Assembly, Himayatnagar, Madhapur, Banjara Hills, Amberpet, Tolichowki, Ameerpet, Srinagar colony, LB Nagar and Vanasthalipuram were cleared by the Monsoon Emergency Teams and Rescue Teams.

Teams also identified water-logging areas across several parts in city and took appropriate action to clear the water.
