Hyderabad: MAUD Minister KT Rama Rao held a review meeting on HMDA development and planning programmes at Buddha Bhavan on Thursday. KTR discussed about development of Hussain Sagar, Durgam Cheruvu and Gandipet lakes in the meeting.

He examined to master plan designed by the consultants for the of important lakes in the city. KTR instructed officials to save the natural sources and develop the lakes. He had given approval for the planning of park near Gandipet and ordered to start the works at the earliest. He also asked to prepare plan for a 40 Km walking track and cycling track around Gandipet.

The Minister conducted a review on layout at Kokapet. As the density of population increased in places like Kokapet and Kollur, he discussed about the increase of transport facility to those areas. There was also a discussion on HMDA logistics parks in the meeting.

As of now, HMDA has roped in some private organisations for development of logistics parks but the increase in logistics needs is making HMDA develop own parks. The Minister instructed them that the parks should be in more than 50 acres. He also instructed officials to concentrate on multi-model logistics parks.

Later, the minister reviewed the habitat centre proposals put forth by HMDA. He instructed them that these centres should exhibit the tradition and art forms of Telangana. He also asked officials of HMDA to arrange convention centres such as Hitex and HICC in other areas like Uppal, Medchal and in central city areas.

Officials explained to KTR about the HMDA urban forestry works. He asked officials to divide HMDA divisions into 20 units and develop forest blocks in those areas. He ordered greater care of for greenery on the outer ring road and inter change areas. Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, MAUD Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar and other officials were present.
