More vehicles to lift garbage in evenings
The GHMC will deploy additional vehicles to clear garbage in the evening hours, according to Commissioner M Dana Kishore. At a review meeting attended by zonal commissioners and HODs, he stated that sanitation programmes in the city were being given utmost importance.

How many vehicles were required to clear garbage in evening should be assessed, Dana Kishore directed the officials concerned. He announced that on June 5 (World Environment Day) several programmes on 'Haritha Haram,' rain harvesting structures and ban of plastic items would be organised.
He disclosed that so far 200 tonnes of plastic wastes had been removed. Such programme should be continuously taken up, the Commissioner stressed. Among those present were Additional Commissioners Amrapali Kata, Shruti Oja, Advaith Kumar Singh, Sandeep Jha, Sikta Patnaik, Kenndy, Vigilance Director Vishwajeet Kampati, Chief Engineers Suresh, Ziauddin and Sridhar.
