Rs 213.71 cr bank loans disbursed to self-help groups
GHMC Additional Commissioner Siktha Patnaik during a review meeting on the performance of the GHMC urban community development department said: “GHMC decided to add poor women to self-help groups (SHGs) and to expedite the process of issuing identity cards to street vendors.

A total of 1,283 SHGs were started this year in Greater Hyderabad. UCD officers have been instructed to add some more people to the groups and conduct a follow up of their performance."
Every circle was appointed with social activists to implement MEPMA programmes more efficiently. They will affix the targets and make a review of the every week. Rs 213.71 core bank loans were allotted from the financial year to 5,122 self-help groups. An amount of Rs 1.7 crore was given to 206 members as part of the self-employment programme.
Patnaik informed that, "A total of 2,246 women health associations were established till date. GHMC is trying to reach health services by government with the cooperation of women health committees.
GHMC decided to issue ID cards under street vendor's policy to petty vendors and giving them recognition as women organisations. Project director Sowjanya, Vijaya Lakshmi and program officials were present."
