Rajendranagar: A 13-year-old boy who ran away from his home fearing threat to life from his father approached Balala Hakkula Sangham for security and shelter.

According to Achyuta Rao, the president of Balala Hakkula Sangham (BHS), Venkatesh Nayak, son of Srinivas Nayak, a resident of Yerrakunta in Rajendra Nagar, ran away from home a couple of days ago. He approached the BHS for shelter and security for his life, as his father Srinivas Nayak wanted to kill him.

Srinivas was recently married to a lady after death of biological mother of Venkatesh Nayak and Srinivas Nayak turned violent and started to beat him with a belt to bleed. "After treatment by a doctor for his injuries, we handed over the child to 'Child line' at BHS office at Narayanaguda," he said.

BHS demanded that the father of the child should be arrested and booked under attempt murder and cruelty against the child, he added. In the letter purportedly written by the boy, he alleged that Telangana Minority Residential School in which he was admitted sent him back to his house.

Upon his arrival at the home his father was wanted to kill him and beat with belt and injured his head. With fear for life, he ran away from home. "Please join me in my hostel and protect me from my father as he may kill me any time as he married another woman after death of my mother," state Venkatesh Nayak.
