Telangana Govt according priority to sports: SATS chief
The State government, after the formation of Telangana, is according priority to sports, said Sports Authority of Telangana State (SATS) Chairman Venkateshwar Reddy here on Sunday.
Basheerbagh: The State government, after the formation of Telangana, is according priority to sports, said Sports Authority of Telangana State (SATS) Chairman Venkateshwar Reddy here on Sunday.
Speaking at the Pesapallo programme organised at FMC, he congratulated the state players selected for the national team. He advised them to perform well and bring laurels to Telangana as well as the the country.
He said SATS was encouraging sportsmen in rural areas, as a result of which promising sportspersons were emerging from there. He expressed confidence in the Indian team winning the Pesapallo World Cup.
In his address, Telangana Pesapallo Association president Renukadas Janvadkar stated that eight men and two women from the State were selected to the national team to take part in the 11th World Cup events in Pune from November 26 to December 1. Teams from 20 countries were participating in the events, he said.
