As many as 27 prison officers belonging to various States who are currently undergoing training at the Central Detective Training Institute (CDTA) Ramanthapur, paid a visit to the Central Prison at Chanchalguda here on Tuesday.

Chanchalguda : As many as 27 prison officers belonging to various States who are currently undergoing training at the Central Detective Training Institute (CDTA) Ramanthapur, paid a visit to the Central Prison at Chanchalguda here on Tuesday.

Initially, the officers visited the Visitor's Lounge of the prison and later, made their way inside the prison and examined the various welfare activities of prisoners such as PT and Parade, Vidyadaanam, classes in morality and ethics conducted by Ramakrishna Math and Unnathi Counseling classes.

The trainee officers observed the segregation of prisoners according to their cases and security measures taken to prevent untoward incidents. While explaining the activities to the officers, K Arjun Rao, Superintendent of Prisons, outlined the welfare schemes introduced by V K Singh, Director-General of Prisons, and steps taken towards reintegrating the prisoners into the society, after their release from prison.

He also explained to them the best practices taken up by the prisons department such as beautification of the prison premises and maintenance of the prison buildings.Dr D Srinivas , Deputy Superintendent of Prisons, A Venkatesham, V Shashi Kanth, Jailors, Deputy Jailors and other officials were present on the occasion.
