The Umemployed JAC is planning to stage protest at Dharna Chowk on November 13 demanding the state government to conduct TET exam to recruit vacant teacher posts in the state.
Vidyanagar: The Umemployed JAC is planning to stage protest at Dharna Chowk on November 13 demanding the state government to conduct TET exam to recruit vacant teacher posts in the state. This was stated by the president of BC Welfare Association, R Krishnaiah, after the meeting held by unemployed JAC at BC Bhavan here on Tuesday.
Speaking to media after the meeting, R Krishnaiah alleged that the state government had been destroying education sector by not filling up vacant teacher posts in the state. He said that TET, teacher recruitment exam, was not conducted in the last seven years. While there were about 50,000 teacher posts lying vacant, the government recruited only 8,000 posts so far, he lamented. He decried the government decision to close about 4,600 government schools on the pretext of lack of admissions.
Due to lack of teachers in the government schools, poor parents were forced to send their wards to private schools which charge exorbitant fees, he said. Therefore, the Unemployed JAC decided to stage 'Maha Dharna' on November 13, demanding that the state government fill teacher vacancies at the earliest, he said. BC leaders Gujja Krishna, Venkatesh, Ramkoti, Satish, Chandrashekhar, Narsimha, Ananthaiah, Mahender and others attended the meeting.
