Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao says there is a feeling among people that electing BJP or Congress corporator does not serve purpose as TRS government is in power in State. New Aasara pensions, that were halted in Corona season, would resume from next month

Hyderabad: Panchayat Raj and Rural Development (PR & RD) Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao has exhorted voters not to fall into the trap of BJP that is hell-bent on disturbing the peaceful atmosphere in the city to get votes and a few seats. TRS manifesto for GHMC elections promising free drinking water and free power to salons, laundries and dhobi ghats is getting an overwhelming response from people, he said.

As part of electioneering for GHMC polls, Dayakar Rao undertook door-to-door campaigning in Ward 4 (Meerpet HB Colony or Moulali HB Colony) along with TRS candidate J Prabhudas (Chinna) on Tuesday.. He was been assigned responsibility of seven divisions in the Uppal assembly segment.

Apart from being the in-charge for the fourth ward, the Minister is co-ordinating party strategies and campaigning for Kapra, Dr AS Rao Nagar, Mallapur, Habsiguda, Ramanthapur and Uppal divisions.

Speaking with The Hans India, the minister exuded confidence of people reposing faith again in TRS in the civic body polls and pointed out that there has been a big makeover in divisions that fall under Uppal segment.

"Drainage network has improved and there are no disturbances from anti-social elements unlike in the past. Also, there is a feeling among people that electing BJP or Congress corporator does not serve purpose as TRS government is in power in State. There are no power cuts like seen earlier. Not to forget many welfare schemes like Aasara pensions, Kalyan Lakshmi or Shaadi Mubarak, KCR Kits etc, that have benefited the poorest of the poor even in urban areas like GHMC," Dayakar Rao highlighted.

The Panchayat Raj Minister also adopted the fourth ward and is highlighting the same to the voters during his campaigning. When asked about it, Dayakar Rao explained that it was his responsibility to address, take care and follow up on problems, issues that are being brought to his notice by the common public in this division. "If the TRS corporator is elected by the people, i will be in regular contact with the corporator to ensure all promises and issues are addressed over the next five-year period," he said.

With a minister in K Chandrashekar Rao's cabinet himself visiting door-to-door and seeking votes for party candidate, people are also making use of the opportunity to bring their issues to his notice hoping for a prompt action.

Rao said that problems about drinking water supply, not receiving flood relief distribution amount, no acceptance of new pensions etc. were some of the representations he received. He said that accepting new applications for Aasara pensions, that were stopped in Corona season, would resume from next month onwards.
