Nampally: On the occasion of World Haemophilia Day, the doctors at Niloufer hospital organised different programmes including a walk as part of generating awareness among public.

Superintendent Dr Murali Krishna, RMO Dr Anuradha Reddy and Dr Ravi Kumar, HOD, and Dr Preethi took part in the programme. Speaking to the media persons, Murali Krishna said that the patients can now avail of the new special ward, which started functioning recently for treating children with Haemophilia.

He also tried to allay apprehensions about the genetic disease and affirmed that those who are suffering could also get relief throughout their lives from the disease, as no other disease was undergoing similar research at the international level.

He also informed that south India has more incidence of the ailment. Being a genetic disease, the doctors asked the general public to avoid marrying within close relations.
