Municipal workers and union leaders staging a dharna before the Municipal Corporation office in Khammam on Tuesday
Seeking hike of salaries of scavengers, working in the municipalities across the State, the municipal workers staged a dharana before the corporation office here on Tuesday.
Khammam: Seeking hike of salaries of scavengers, working in the municipalities across the State, the municipal workers staged a dharana before the corporation office here on Tuesday.
INTUC, CITU, AITUC and IFTU leaders extended their support and participated in the dharna. Later, the union leaders demanded that the government must increase the salaries of scavengers to a minimum of
Rs 24,000. They lamented that IT Minister KT Rama Rao had increased the salaries of the workers of GHMC by Rs 3,000 only. They appealed to the TRS government to solve the pending issues of Municipal workers
immediately.
Later, the leaders and workers submitted a memorandum to the Municipal Corporation Commissioner in the office.
