Andhra Pradesh state government has started Sri Lakshmi Mahayagnam with Ashtottara Satha Kundatmina Chandi, Rudra, Rajashyamala and Sudarshana from Friday under the auspices of Endowment department.

Andhra Pradesh state government has started Sri Lakshmi Mahayagnam with Ashtottara Satha Kundatmina Chandi, Rudra, Rajashyamala and Sudarshana from Friday under the auspices of Endowment department. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy participated in this Yagnam which is being held at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Vijayawada Bandaru Road.

At 5 o'clock in the morning, Mahamangala instrumental heart beat, Bhagwat Preetiga Vedasvasti, Gopuja, Vighneswara-Vishvaksena Puja, Punyahavachanam, Dikshadharana, Ajasra Deeparadhana and other programs started. The Maha Yajna started after CM Jagan took the Sankalp for the Yajna. Deputy Chief Minister and Endowment minister Kottu Satyanarayana couple received the yagnadharana.

While this Mahayagna will continue for 6 days till Wednesday 17th May, Yagnas will be held in four main yagashalas set up with Vaikhanasam, Pancharatram, Shaivam and Vedic Smartam Agamas. Rutvikulu yajna programs are performed with a total of 108 kundas at the rate of 27 kundas in each yagashala. It will continue from 9 am to 12 pm and from 6 pm to 9 pm every day except the morning of the first day. Sources of the Endowment department revealed that a special abhishekam will be conducted with 1008 kasalas with the waters of the holy seven rivers and three seas.

Meanwhile, as many as four queues were arranged around the yagashalas for the devotees to watch the yagna. They are designed to circumambulate around the shrine while watching the yagna.

On the first day of Yajna, the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy mahotsavam followed by Dwaraka Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Swamy Mahotsavam on 13th, Annavaram Sri Veeravenkata Satyanarayana Swamy on 14th, Srishaila Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Mahotsavam on 15th and Sri Varahalakshmi Narasimha Swamy Mahotsavam on 16th will be held grandly.

On the last day on the 17th, the yagna programs will end with Maha Purnahuti by the hands of CM Jagan, the president of Visakha Sri Sharada Peetham Swarpanandendra Sarswati, and the Uttaradhikari of the Peetham, Swatmanandendra.
