Maharashtra has reported 1068 deaths and 6564 people have recovered or have been discharged so far. The state count adds up to 34% of the country's overall tally.

Mumbai continues to report high numbers of COVID-19 cases. The maximum city reported 933 fresh cases of Coronavirus on Friday and with this, the total number of COVID-19 cases in Mumbai has risen to 17,512. The death toll in the city has climbed to 655. Mumbai, over the past several days, has been contributing as much as a fifth of the country's overall tally of COVID-19 cases.

Tamil Nadu has crossed the 10,000 marks in the total number of coronavirus patients in the state. The current tally from Tamil Nadu stands at 10,108 with a low fatality rate of 71 deaths. 2,599 patients in the state have either recovered or have been discharged.

Gujarat has reported 100 cases fewer than Tamil Nadu with the total number of COVID-19 cases from the state standing at 9,931. Gujarat has reported a high number of deaths, with the total number of fatalities in the state recorded so far climbing to 606. The number of patients who have recovered or have been discharged in the western state stands at 4,035.
