The COVID-19 pandemic shows no signs of abating with the countrywide count climbing to 4,73,105 as per the latest update put out on Thursday morning by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The countrywide death count is inching close to 15,000 and now stands at 14,894 with 1,86,514 active cases, while 2,71,697 patients have been cured or discharged.

Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan contribute the most among the states in terms of the caseload in the country.

Maharashtra continues to be the most severely hit state with its COVID-19 tally now mounting to 1,42,900 and 6,739 deaths. Close to 50% of the viral load for the state comes from the Maximum City of Mumbai.

Delhi with 70,390 has now overtaken Mumbai as the most badly hit city. It has also gone past Tamil Nadu in the number of cases recorded. Delhi has reported 2,365 deaths.

Tamil Nadu has reported an overall count of 67,468 confirmed COVID-19 cases. There have been 866 deaths in the state so far.

Gujarat has reported 28,371 deaths COVID-19 cases and 1,710 deaths.

Uttar Pradesh is moving close to the 20,000 mark and has recorded 19,557 confirmed coronavirus cases and 596 deaths.

Rajasthan has crossed the 16,000 mark and has recorded 16,009 confirmed coronavirus cases so far with 375 deaths.

Madhya Pradesh has recorded 12,448 confirmed COVID-19 cases with the total death count in the state now reaching 534.

West Bengal has crossed the 15,000 mark and has so far reported 15,173 cases of coronavirus, with 591 deaths.

Haryana which has seen a spike in the number of COVID-19 recent weeks, has crossed the 12,000 mark and reported 12,010 confirmed cases and 188 deaths.

Andhra Pradesh has shot past Karnataka recording 10,331 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 124 deaths.
