The pro-Kannada organizations under Karnataka Sanghatanegala Okkoota have given a call for bandh on February 13 demanding a major share in jobs in the government and private sector for Kannadigas.

According to Bangaloremirror, the forum is demanding the government to implement the Sarojini Mahishi report, which gives 100 percent reservation for Kannadigas in the non-technical departments of the private sector. The report was also submitted to the government in 1984, but none of the governments implemented it due to stiff opposition from the private companies.

On Thursday, not all the drivers who have attached their cab to Ola and Uber may report to work as Ola, Taxiforsure, Uber (OTU) owners and Drivers Association have taken a call to remain off the road. Adarsha Auto Rickshaw and Taxi Union have requested its members not to work on the bandh day. Tanveer Pasha of OTU Owners and Drivers Association said they are extending the support as the demands are legitimate.
