An 18 years-old Pia Olden wrote on her Facebook page that she decided to eat her pet horse Drifting Speed which was put down in 2018 due to prolonged illness and the body parts have been stored in a freezer in the house.
In the now deleted Facebook post, the teenage girl shared a photo of her horse when it was alive, along with an image of horse meat, which was prepared with chilli and mango. After being trolled by the netizens and animal lovers, the FB post was deleted, but those screen shorts have gone viral on social media. This incident happened in Norway.
Norwegian teen girl Pia Olden, who grew up on a farm and loves horse riding. With this, Olden's parents bought her a pet horse. However, the horse was put down in 2018 due to the illness, and recently it has died.
The family didn't perform the funeral of the horse but kept fillets of Drifting Speed in their freezer. Pia shared the pictures of her horse dish on Facebook along with the comments that the dish was very tasty.
Her post received huge backlash and even death threats after it was widely shared on social media. Despite all the backlash, Olden defended her right to eat her horse, saying it was her way of honouring Drifting Speed. It was some of the best meat we have eaten," she said.
