Vikarabad (Rangareddy): Vikarabad would become a separate district after the Telangana state was formed, Deputy Chief Minister Damodara Rajanarasimha said here on Thursday. Addressing newsmen at the R&B Guest House here along with Minister for Handloom and Textiles G Prasadkumar, the deputy chief minister said that the party high command has not been dilly-dallying over the formation of the Telangana state.

“There is no second thought on Telangana,” he asserted. The deputy chief minister announced that a medical college would be established at Anantagiri hills in the town after Telangana state was formed. Referring to the joining of leaders from other parties with reference to former minister and TRS politburo member Dr A Chandrasekhar into the Congress party, he asserted that Minister for Handloom and Textiles G Prasad Kumar would contest from Vikarabad Assembly constituency in the next general elections. “If the party ticket is given to the recently leader like Chandrasekhar, what would happen to the party cadre who have been holding the party flag for decades,” he said.

The newly joined leaders should extend their services to the party first, then only they would be considered for any post, the deputy chief minister said.
