kiranNirmal (Adilabad): Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy showered many sops to the people of Nirmal Assembly constituency in Adilabad district on Thursday. As part of Indiramma Baata programme, he laid the foundation stone for several developmental works and inaugurated several other works, all worth Rs 692 cr in the segment on the day. Addressing a massive meeting in the town on the occasion, Kiran Kumar Reddy said that Andhra Pradesh was the only State in the country which had provided legality for the utilisation of the SC, ST Sub-Plan fund. Similarly, under Amma Hastham programme, nine varieties of essential commodities were being given to the white ration cardholders just for Rs 185, benefitting them Rs 100 on each pack of commodities. The scheme was only to provide food security to the poor and downtrodden. All the welfare schemes would continue in the State, he said ``The TDP Government had allocated Rs 150 cr for BC welfare whereas the present Congress government had allocated Rs 4,027 cr for the purpose. The Government had been spending Rs 4,200 cr per annum for payment of scholarships to the college students,'' he said. He said that the State Government proposed to establish 350 hostels for SCs and STs in the State.
