The Customs and Central Excise department at Guntur launched a special centre ‘Sevotham’ at its Kannavari Thota Office on Saturday. Excise Commissioner CP Rao said that the centre is aimed at solving problems and issues relating to tax payers and attending to their grievances. All issues the tax payers have with the department will be promptly attended to.

All issues the tax payers have with the department will be promptly attended to. Besides, tax payers can meet any official every Wednesday.

The centre will also be a meeting point for tax payers, assessees, clients and citizens. Speaking on the occasion, Customs Commissioner SK Rehman said that the employees of the department should have a sense of responsibility, accountability and transparency in dealings. He promised to introduce a new work culture in the centre.

Employees performing well and dedicated work will be rewarded with incentives, he added. Additional commissioner K Dinesh Chakrawarthy, assistant commissioners K Vinay Kumar and K Rajasekhara Reddy and Superintendents Gummadi Sitharamaiah Choudhury, Mallala Srinivas, Devayani and Zecharaiah were present.
