Reacing to the recently-concluded ESL India Premiership Challenger one -- India's first major electronic sports tournament -- in Pune, Vinay Shetty, Regional Director, ASUS India, Component Business said that the response was overwhelming.

“To be at the centrestage of the biggest E-sports event in India is almost unreal. But this is all changing for good and we look forward to see more participation in Bengaluru,” Shetty told IANS.

“Not only will people start to take e-sports seriously it will create the much lacked awareness in this field and put India on the global map," he added.
ESL India Premiership is a mix of online and offline tournaments where a large number of participants play video games via LAN that is facilitated by electronic systems.

According to the ESL premiership website, the total prize money to be won is Rs 42,72,000 and ASUS is providing the official hardware and accessories for the tournament such as ASUS B150 Pro Gaming/Aura Gaming Motherboard, ASUS Strix GeForce GTX 970 OC 4GB Graphics card and ASUS VG248QE 144Hz 1ms monitor.

ASUS recently announced that it is the official gaming partner for PC Hardware and accessories of the ESL India Premiership. The next phase of the tournament will be organised in Bengaluru in November and the event will conclude in Delhi in December. ESL is one of the world's largest and renowned companies in electronic sports operated by Turtle Entertainment in Cologne, Germany.
