Vijayawada: Activists, under the banner of Banjara Nangara Bheri Lambadi Hakkula Porata Samithi, protested here on Monday, opposing the move of the state government to include Boyas, Valmikis, Kirataka, Donga and other 11 tribes in the list of STs. They found fault with the Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu for writing a letter to the Centre to include above castes in the list of STs and demanded that the government withdraw the move.

Addressing a gathering, the association state president R Kailash Naik, said that the decision of the state government to include some more castes in the list of STs was worrying the Schedule Tribes and demanded that the government withdraw the move. He urged the government to convert Girijan tandas as gram panchayats and give nominated posts on population basis to the Girijans.

He requested the government to construct Girijan Bhavan in all the districts in the state. He warned that if the government failed to take steps to solve their demands, they would organise Chalo Delhi programme very soon.
Banjara Nangara Bheri Lambadi Hakkula Porata Samithi national president Tejavat Bellaiah, state general secretary Hamsavat Bhojya Naik were among those participated.
