Achanta: Minister for Labour Pitani Satyanarayana has said the poor have access to medical assistance in the Government hospitals, which provide medical services on par with the corporate hospitals in the State.

He distributed the Chief Minister Relief Fund (CMRF) cheques for Rs 36.2 lakh to 57 poor persons of various villages in Achanta constituency at Kommu Chikkala Village in Poduru Mandal on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had extended financial assistance to the poor for medical treatment through the relief fund. “The poor patients are undergoing free medical check-ups in the Government hospital. The government is even providing him with financial assistance for ailments.”

He stated the underprivileged were undergoing treatment in emergency wards with the government settling the bills from CMRF. Agriculture Marketing Committee Chairmen Uppalapati Suresh Babu, Sanaboyina Gopalakrishna, ZPTC member Bokka Nageswara Rao, Penumantra mandal President K Sarojini were present at the programme.
