Rajamahendravaram: The auspicious Vaikunta Ekadasi was celebrated with religious fervour on Friday as thousands of people thronged to the Vaishnavite temples across the district for the darshan of the Lord.

Serpentine queues were seen at the temples and ‘darshan’ commenced from 1 am and special poojas were performed.

Venugopala Swamy Temple, Narasimha Swamy temples, Sri Venkateswara Swamy temples, Lakshmi Narayana Temple in Rajamahendravaram, Bhavanarayana Swamy Temple in Sarpavaram, Rama and Sri Balaji temples in Kakinada, Kunthi Madhava Swamy Temple in Pithapuram, Venkateswara Swamy temples in Appanapalli and Tantikonda, Nrushima Swamy temples in Antervedi
and KorukondaVaishnavite temples were crowded with devotees.

The devotees rushed to the temple for the darshan of the Lord through Uttara Dwaram, which is a pious darshan on Vaikunta Ekadasi.

Meanwhile, about 50,000 devotees turned up for the darshan of Lord Sri Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Swamy at the sacred shrine at Ratnagiri (Annavaram). All the temple managements arranged for hassle-free darshan.
