Students told to spare some time for sports
Geddam Satish, a student of BHSR and VLM College which is affiliated to Adikavi Nannaya University (AKNU) in West Godavari district proved his mettle in international badminton tournament held in Colombo from January 15 to January 19.
Rajamahendravaram: Geddam Satish, a student of BHSR and VLM College which is affiliated to Adikavi Nannaya University (AKNU) in West Godavari district proved his mettle in international badminton tournament held in Colombo from January 15 to January 19.
He is studying second BA in the college and earlier participated in four national tournaments and 30 state tournaments and bagged two gold medals along with one silver medal and one bronze medal. Felicitating the student, AKNU vice-chancellor Prof Murru Mutyala Naidu said that the university was giving importance for sports and games and encouraging the students.
Many students of the university were representing the university at state, national and international level tournaments. He advised the students to spare some time to sports and games every day which helps to obtain jobs in sports quota as well as to maintain sound health and good physique. Sports and games increase competitive spirit also. He asked Geddam Satish to maintain the spirit in the future also.
