Guntur: The Gurazala Court on Thursday sentenced six accused in the fake currency notes circulation case with five years imprisonment and Rs 1,000 penalty to each.

According to additional public prosecutor Kandimalla Surya Raju, the accused Ganji Venkateswaralu, China Kasaiah, Ganji Prasanna Kumar, Battula Sambasiva Rao, Ravella Rama Rao, Shaik Maulali, printed fake currency notes in the house of Saheb in Karempudi in Guntur district in 2013.

They allegedly circulated fake currency of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 denominations in Hyderabad. The then Karampudi SI Subba Rao caught the accused with fake currency notes and produced in the court. After completion of hearing, Gurazala senior civil judge M Gurunadham imposed five years imprisonment and Rs 1,000 penalty to the accused.
