Vijayawada: Except one malpractice case at Pavitra Junior College, Machilipatnam, the Board of Intermediate Examination (BIE) paper-I was held peacefully at all the 159 centres, according to Regional Inspection Officer Siva Satayanarayana Reddy on Wednesday.

Speaking to ‘The Hans India’, Reddy informed that out of 64, 222 students applied for Intermediate examinations in Krishna district, as many as 60, 428 students appeared for the exam and 3, 794 students were absent. He said Sanskrit, Telugu, Hindi and Urdu paper-I exam was held at 159 exam centres in the district.

G Kethan Babu of RK Junior College Machilipatnam writing Sanskrit paper-I exam at Pavitra Junior College with centre code 25236, was booked under malpractice and was sent out of the exam hall. He would not be allowed to write other examinations, he added.

Earlier, HRD Minister Ganta Srinivas Rao released Set Number III for the paper-I, BIE exam at Hotel Gateway on Wednesday morning. The students along with parents were seen waiting at various examination centres in the city as they students were instructed by the colleges to reach the exam centre by 8.30 am. The students were warned of not allowing into the exam hall if they were late by one minute.
