Hyderabad: TDP on Saturday demanded the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to take up the establishment of integrated steel factory at Bayyaram iron ore area in Khammam and Warangal districts under public sector with union government and cancel the allotment of iron ore mining to Rastriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) in Visakhapatnam and protect the interests of Telangana region .

A TDP delegation led by TDP Parliamentary Party leader N Nageshwara Rao and Telangana TDP Forum Chairman E Dayakara Rao met the Chief Minister at camp office and submitted a memorandum demanding that the iron ore mines shall be allotted as 'captive' ones by encouraging setting up of plants for ensuring employment in the local area. The natural resources in the tribal dominated areas shall be utilised for upliftment of the communities only.

Stating that the party is committed to continue its fight till the government fulfill the long cherished desire of the people in the region, the TDP leaders said it was party President N Chandrababu Naidu who led agitation against the allotment of mines to Rakshna Steels allegedly owned by former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy's son in- law Brother Anil Kumar and succeeded in scrapping the 'illegal' deal.

The party leader Nageshwara Rao said the TDP was the first party in raising the illegal allotment of iron ore to Rakshna steel company in Lok Sabha in 2010 . Even when the Centre cancelled the lease, state government took two years to cancel the MoU. It clearly illustrated th apathy and indifference of even the present state government to protect the natural resources of the state.
