T party claims Medak bandh total, peaceful
Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) on Friday claimed that the Medak bandh against Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy's remarks on Bayyaram was a grand success.
Addressing a press conference at Telangana Bhavan, party Medak district in-charge Rajaiah Yadav, former MLA Padma Devender Reddy and E Srinivas thanked all those who voluntarily participated in the bandh. "Despite the efforts of government and the Chief Minister's henchmen to foil our protest, we made the Medak bandh a success," they said.
The TRS leaders reiterated that they will not allow the government to take away even a single granule of iron ore from Bayyaram to Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. The government, they said, should make it clear whether or not it would construct a steel plant at Bayyaram.
They also demanded the T ministers to make their stand clear on the issue and flayed the government for using police force against the T activists who were taken into custody since Thursday night.
They said that TRS would not hesitate to dethrone the government if it tried to shift Bayyaram ore. They alleged that Congress whip Jagga Reddy was acting at the behest of the Chief Minister and talking against the interests of the people of Telangana.
