Mopidevi joins YSRCP
Mopidevi Joins YSRCP, News About Former minister Mopidevi Venkataramana Rao. Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy had shown discrimination towards him by not providing any legal assistance, the former minister lamented. Mopidevi accused the ruling party of playing politics.

Former minister Mopidevi Venkataramana Rao has charged the Congress party with making him a scapegoat in order to indict YS Jaganmohan Reddy. Mopidevi said that he was arrested since Congress planned to arrest a minister before taking Jagan into custody. Venkataramana joined YSR Congress party along with scores of his followers at Lotus Pond on Friday. YSRC president Jaganmohan Reddy warmly welcomed them. The former minister said that he was targeted because he belonged to a backward caste.

The party was not in a position to face Jagan and hence made him a scapegoat and got him arrested, the former minister said adding that he would strive hard to ensure Jagan became the next chief minister of the state.“I have joined YSRCP because I believe in Jagan's leadership," Mopidevi added.
Meanwhile the former minister’s brother Harinath Babu lamented that despite serving Congress for more than 25 years, the party failed to take care of them when they were in trouble. It may be recalled that Mopidevi’s son Rajiv and his brother Harinath Babu joined the YSRC in July this year. Mopidevi Vekataramana represents Repalle constituency in Guntur district in the Assembly. He was arrested on May 24, 2012, and sent to jail for his role in allotment of land for the Vanpic project to help Jaganmohan Reddy to get quid pro quo investments into his company by those who got the land. The CBI court granted him bail on October 29.
