Seemandhra Union ministers have asked the Group of ministers (GoM) to keep the state united as this decision will lead to countless suffering of people of Rayala Seema and coastal Andhra.

Union ministers including Kishore Chandra Deo, KS Rao, Chiranjeevi, and Ministers of state Purandheshwari, Panabaka Lakshmi, Killi Kruparani, Kotla Suryaprakash Reddy and JD Seelam were present during the meeting.
While Kotla submitted a report on the backwardness of Rayalaseema to the GoM, Kishore Chandra Deo also submitted a prensentation on the developmental needs of north coastal Andhra Pradesh.
A letter submitted to the GoM detailed reasons not to divide the state, was signed by all the Ministers except Kishore Chandra Deo.
Addressing the media after the meeting with GoM, Minister J.D.Seelam said all the Seemandhra ministers submitted their requisitions on a single argument to the GoM, that of keeping the state united. They have impressed upon the GoM, the countless problems that will arise in the process of bifurcation.
The Seemandhra ministers told the gom that all the development in the last few decades was concentrated around Hyderabad. They asserted that everybody from all parts of the state had contributed to its development over the years to make Hyderabad a metropolitan city.
According to Seelam, the Ministers told the GoM that since Hyderabad has acquired great importance among all the sections of people, particularly students and youth, it will be difficult to take away Hyderabad from them. Also, the minister explained that there has been a large-scale migration of Seemandhra people to capital Hyderabad in the last 30 years and one-third of the city’s population is now accounted by people of Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra.
They also demanded that the GoM “not create permanent animosities between Telugu people” in the process of creating a new state. Saleem also revealed that the response of the GoM was “quite encouraging to them and they feel reassured now,” that nothing untoward will be done.
Meanwhile, some ministers told the GoM, that if bifurcation is “inevitable,” Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) areas shall be made a Union Territory on the lines of New Delhi with an elected Assembly.
